About our mission

We create health for people, communities and the planet through love, healing food and empowering the next generation.

Unlike any other local food provider, Ceres focuses specifically on providing meals for community members of all ages who are living with serious, chronic and complex health conditions...

When you’re ill, having access to the right kind of food is critically important. But a serious illness can make shopping and cooking difficult or impossible.

The majority of Ceres’ clients face the added challenge of living on very low incomes of less than $30,000.
With your support, our clients don’t have to choose between paying medical bills and purchasing healthy food.

Plus, our program engages more than 300 teens throughout Marin and Sonoma counties who volunteer their time to grow produce in our gardens and learn to cook by helping prepare medically tailored meals for our clients. Our Teen Chefs and Gardeners gain skills that help them lead a healthy, engaged life while forming new friendships and experiencing the joy of making a difference for their neighbors in need.

None of this is possible without the financial support of community members like you. Right now, like many nonprofits, Ceres is seeing our funding from government and foundation sources decline. With costs rising and more community members seeking meals, you are a critical ingredient in our recipe for success.

"For medically challenged people like me, Ceres is a lifesaver. Besides food designed for each person’s dietary needs, it’s made with love.” —“Debbie,” Ceres client
